Welcome!
Welcome to Cooking for Bad Brains, from one badbrain to another.
Cooking can be difficult for so many reasons. Even more so if you have cognitive accessibility issues with the average cookbook.
Recepies not being detailed enough, sequencing difficulties, what on earth does "chop some vegetables" mean and how stiff is the egg white supposed to be to make "soft peaks"?
So Bad Brains Cookbook endeavor to make it a little bit easier. Writing down some hyper-sequenced recepies, the generalised cooking methods and what the terminology in regular cookbooks mean. Finding ways to make filling, nutritious [or at the very least survivable] meals in 5, 10 or 20 steps, using the tools you have at hand. Talking about the time a food should cook, the texture it is supposed to have when done, what is should sound like, what it should look like, what it should smell like. Tricks to get around certain variations of sensory defensiveness, clear suggestions for substitutions in the ingredient list. Short videos showing a method in action, texts on what on earth it is that is actually happening to the food if we can, visual support and visual information, illustrations and diagrams.
Ambitious? We know. But needed.
So we want to help.
